The Forum

The Maid of Honor Forum is your chance to vent, ask, explore, giggle, cry and share your experiences with as a Maid of Honor. Not the Maid of Honor yourself, but want to gab about someone else in that role? That’s good too!

  • What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever been expected to do as a Maid of Honor?

  • What’s the most thoughtful thing you’ve heard about a Maid of Honor doing?

  • Have you played handmaiden to a real Bridezilla?

Question for the month of July: "What was the most thoughtful thing you've heard done for a bride by a maid of honor, or by a bride for her MOH and bridesmaids?" Send us at email at forum@maidofhonor.com and we'll post your answers.

June Question Winner:  "What was the best game you've played at a bridal shower?"

"To answer your question, one of my favorite games is sort of like Balderdash where the hostess poses numerous questions about the engaged couple's relationship (you could play this at co-ed parties as well).  It is best if the questions are somewhat obscure --questions that many attendees would not know the correct answer to. The bride (and possibly groom) writes the true response on a piece of paper and all the guests write their best guess, along with their name, on a piece of paper and pass it to the bride. Then the bride reads all the responses in no particular order.  Guests then guess which one is the "real" answer.  Guests get 2 points if they know or guess the bride's answer and they get 1 point for each vote for their clever "trick" answers.  You can give a prize for each round or for the entire game.  Some sample questions:  In one sentence, describe when and where the bride and groom first kissed; what feature of your future spouse do you find to be most similar to one of his parents?; What is the best gift your fiance ever gave you?; Name the one thing you find most adorable about your future spouse. For bachelorette type parties, the questions can be more risque.  After each round, the bride can go into more of a detailed explanation and it's a good way to share stories of their relationship."
